"This new release from Mikans comes from recordings made in the summer and autumn of 2010 in Japan and England. From the floating but powerful 'Redemption', through the atmospheric 'The Web', the evocative 'City at the Edge of the World', conjuring and contrasting city and country life in Japan, to 'The Way Back' with its combination of Japanese traditional instruments and electronics, this collection of songs exhibits traits from both countries. Mikans inception began in a little apartment in Yugawara, Japan. Its founding member, Matt Baker, originally from the UK, has been an avid writer of ambient music for many years. His experiences of Japan imprinted themselves on his music.
